Central took the lead late and defeated the Northside Patriots 7-4 on Thursday. The game was tied at three with Central batting in the top of the fifth when Caleb Johnson singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.
The Red Devils opened up scoring in the first inning, when an error scored one run for Central.
Will Cannon earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for the Red Devils. The righty went four innings, allowing three runs on four hits and striking out five. Caleb Bias and Zion Morris entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Morris recorded the last two outs to earn the save for Central.
Conner Sizemore took the loss for Northside. The pitcher surrendered four runs on one hit over four and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking one.
Central smacked one home run on the day. Morris had a homer in the seventh inning.
Cole Kehoe went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the offense for the Devils. The Devils defense didn't commit a single error in the field. Brody Capps had nine chances in the field, the most on the team.
