The Red Devils lost the lead late in a 6-5 loss to Woodward Academy on Saturday. The game was tied at five with Woodward Academy batting in the top of the eighth when Will Sanders singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Central captured the lead in the second inning when an error scored one run for The Red Devils. In the bottom of the sixth inning, Central tied things up at five when Jax Yoxtheimer drew a walk, scoring one run. Central then put up four runs in the second inning. Yoxtheimer and Caleb Johnson all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.
Woodward Academy scored three runs in the fifth inning led by Chandler Pollard and Banks Snellings, all knocking in runs in the inning.
Jake Waddell was on the mound for Woodward Academy. He surrendered four runs on one hit over one and two-thirds innings.
Caleb Bias was on the hill for The Red Devils. He allowed two hits and two runs over two innings, striking out one and walking one. Zion Morris, Drew Anthony, and Brodie Farrow each contributed in relief for Central.
Cole Kehoe, Jared Jackson, Zach Joyner, Bryce Sanders, and Yoxtheimer all had one hit to lead the team on offense.
